According to the New York Times, the concept of Black Friday was originated by the local police in Philadelphia, internally the expression was used because the traffic chaos that was created during the stores' sale.

Black Friday is a very big day for stores, but with each passing year and since shopping behind a screen in the comfort of your home is much more convenient, Friday is also showing up online!
