SMLight SLZB-MR1U — Zigbee & Matter-over-Thread Gateway with PoE, Ethernet/USB/Wi-Fi

Short description
SLZB-MR1U is a versatile Zigbee 3.0 and Matter-over-Thread gateway that connects via Ethernet (10/100), Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, or USB-C and can be powered by PoE (802.3af). It’s pre-flashed and ready for Home Assistant (ZHA) and Zigbee2MQTT, with an external +5 dBi antenna and +20 dB radio output for long-range, reliable coverage.

Long description
The SMLight SLZB-MR1U is built for stable, high-range smart-home networks. Run it as a Zigbee 3.0 coordinator or router, or switch to Matter-over-Thread router mode—directly from the web UI or the physical button. Thanks to Power-over-Ethernet you can place the gateway in the best possible spot without extra power cabling. Under the hood, a TI CC2652P radio handles Zigbee/Thread, while an ESP32-D0WD manages connectivity and features like remote updates, mode switching, and an integrated USB flasher with auto-boot. It works great with Home Assistant (ZHA) and Zigbee2MQTT, and supports devices from major brands such as Aqara, IKEA, Philips Hue, Sonoff, and Tuya.

Highlights

  • Zigbee 3.0 & Matter-over-Thread — coordinator/router modes, switchable in one click

  • Flexible connectivity — use as an adapter to Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or USB

  • PoE (802.3af) — power directly via Ethernet for cleaner installs

  • Pre-flashed — plug-and-play with Zigbee2MQTT and Home Assistant (ZHA)

  • Long range+20 dB radio output and external +5 dBi antenna

  • User-friendly — 4 status LEDs, mode button, remote firmware updates
