AMIT IDG780 is a very fast, competent and reliable 5G router.

In addition, it has one of the fastest 4G modules with LTE Cat 20 that provides Gigabit performance on 4G (if the network/subscription can handle it ).

And one of the extremely few industrial 5G routers that has a CPU that truly achieves Gigabit performance.

Our preliminary tests on Telia's and Tele2's 5G networks in Stockholm show 970 Mbit/si downlink and approx. 175 Mbit/si Uplink.

Extra reliable
The IDG780 is very reliable and is created to always reconnect to the mobile network or fixed network whatever whatever happens. It has a built-in hardware and software watch dog that can cut off the voltage to both the radio module and the SIM card in the event of a problem to ensure trouble-free reconnection to the network in the event of operator disruptions.

Tougher handling environments
Copes with extra high/low temperatures (-30 to +60 degrees). In addition, it has a stable metal shell to withstand slightly more difficult environments

Transparent Mode
The router can be put in Transparent Mode, which makes it perfect to place outside an existing firewall as a connection to the mobile network. Many customers use these routers on the WAN-2 port of their firewall as a failover to 5G/4G if the fiber goes down.

PoE powered
The IDG780 can be powered with PoE which allows you to draw power to the router via Ethernet cable in cases where you want to place the router close to the antenna and avoid long antenna cables.

VPN
The IDG780 has a built-in VPN for IPSec, L2TP, PPTP (client-/server-mode), GRE, L2TP over IPSec and OpenVPN.

Dual SIM
The IDG780 has dual SIM card slots to be able to connect 2 different operators. The router can automatically switch to the other SIM card in case of operational problems with the regular operator.

Lots of frequency bands
The IDG780 has a "Global" module that supports a lot of frequency bands for different parts of the world.

Fail-over
The IDG780 has built-in fail-over between the WAN port and the 5G modem. Either you have your DSL/fibre as your primary internet link or you switch to 5G in case of operational disruptions on DSL/fibre or you have your 5G as your primary link but can switch to, for example, a slow ADSL when 5G does not work.

< p>In addition, it has the option of using both 5G and the WAN port at the same time (Load Balancing) for those occasions when you want to maximize traffic capacity.

SMS control
The IDG780 has built-in support for SMS. The SMS function can be used for example to control the router (status, connect, disconnect, reconnect and reboot) or to alert.

Quality of Service
Built-in possibility to build own QoS rules.

WiFi
The IDG780 has built-in 802.11n WIFI. NOTE The WIFI part is not as fast as the 5G radio and is more thought of as managing or as a secondary uplink. Maximum performance is via the Ethernet ports.

Key features:

  • Built-in 5G module (Limitation becomes Ethernet the port with approx. 1000 Mbit/s)
  • 4G CAT20 support for Gigabit 4G
  • Can be powered via PoE
  • Dual SIM cards
  • Software and hardware watch dog
  • Ethernet WAN port plus 5G modem for extra high operational security
  • 2 GigaBit Ethernet (LAN or LAN+WAN)
  • < li>Surge protected power supply
  • Multiple VPN stacks (IPSec, L2TP, GRE, L2TP over IPSec and OpenVPN) with 8 simultaneous tunnels

Explanation of frequency bands

When choosing an antenna, pay attention to which frequency bands the antenna supports. Depending on which operator and where the antenna will be used, the frequency bands vary. Larger cities use 2600MHz while smaller towns use 800/900MHz with some support bands in between such as 1800/2100MHz.

A higher frequency band gives a higher speed but also has a shorter range. The same applies to the antenna, if you have a base station that transmits on 2600MHz, your antenna, antenna cable and the location of the antenna become more important than on a lower frequency band. Explanation of signal loss we will go through soon. Higher frequency bands also mean shorter range from the base station.

450MHz (coverage band) also known as the Net1 band is the frequency band that covers the most area in Sweden. Therefore, Net1 is known to be able to have reception where other operators don´t have a chance, but with low download and upload speeds. The reason why this band is called Net1 is because that the company Net1 has exclusive rights to this frequency band.

800MHz (coverage band) is used by all common operators, excluding Net1. The low frequency band means that 800MHz covers a lot of space. Therefore, the band is used outside big cities or smaller towns. 800MHz is the most used frequency band around Europe.

900MHz (coverage band) is the band that Tele2 and Telenor initially used as coverage band. 900MHz is a more unusual LTE band and in the beginning the band caused some problems when the clients (mobile phones etc.) could not connect to 900MHz. Today, the mobile phone manufacturers have adapted the mobile phones to be able to communicate on 900MHz.

1800MHz (capacity band) is the latest frequency band launched. All operators today use this band in metropolitan centers (apart from Net1).

2600MHz (capacity band) is a very well-used frequency band all over Europe. 2600MHz is the highest frequency band used for LTE, this means that the band also has the shortest range compared to 800/900MHz. Due to the high capacity, the band is used in metropolitan environments where many base stations are required to cover as much surface as possible and have as high a capacity as possible.
