      740/940
      Rpm signal: Should normally be taken from the generator. 740 after -88 and 940 have a slightly more advanced ignition system where an electronic sensor has been mixed in to measure the crankshaft. This allows us to sneak onto the sensor to get a signal instead.
      Speed signal: Behind the meter housing is an output marked E. There is a high-resolution speed signal ready to be used for the RPM regulator. Original in the car, this is originally a speed output for the cruise control, but the E output is in the car regardless of whether the car has cruise control or not. Output E has an amplified speed signal which is more convenient to use than the green-white cable. Some 740/940 lack E output, then use the green-white cable instead.

      940 tip: if you have an immobilizer, you cannot use the old +12v supply to the ignition coil. This is because the 12v supply remains after the engine is switched off. Then the regulator stops and it can take a quarter of an hour or more before you can start the car again. Use another power source, but there must be +12v the whole time you pull the starter motor. The regulator must have power the whole time the starter motor is running.

      Inductive sensor is not included in this package as the speed signal can normally be taken from the green-white cable at the meter housing.


      Want to have the option to have the H-regulator inside the passenger compartment to easier program the revolutions and the speed while you are out driving the car. So we have an "extension cable kit" that you or we install together. The article can be found under "accessories".


      Connection diagrams

      If you want to break the soil into spreaders, it is just as well to do it. Recommend breaking the ignition coil in the first place.
