Converter of direct voltage (0.5V to approx. 3V) to frequency.
This converter can be used to generate a speed signal in cases where it is difficult to find one from another place in the car.

In the Kin Cab D22 it may be a possibility. In most cars that have an electric accelerator, it can also be used to generate a RPM signal by "listening" to one of the accelerator's analog signals and outputting a RPM signal to the H governor instead.

Volts to frequency: On Nissan King Cab with D22 engine 2002-2005 (there are some D22 made in 2006) you can use the VF function (supplement) to get the engine speed and thus avoid interfering with the generator. An analog voltage is converted to frequency, which is used by the regulator as a speed signal. The signal is picked up in the motor's control box.

In some cases, you can use the VF module to generate the speed signal based on the signal from the app sensor, and get an easy installation. The output signal from app sensor channel 1 (J2:2) on the app sensor is then used to control the VF module's voltage input.
The VF module's properties:
At an input voltage of 0.3V, it gives an approx. 20Hz output signal.
At an input voltage of 0.5V, it gives approx. 30Hz output signal.
At an input voltage of 2.1V, it gives approx. 100Hz output signal.
At an input voltage of 3.0V, it gives approx. 140Hz output signal.
At an input voltage of 3.5V (max), it produces approx. 165Hz output signal.

The VF module also has screw connections.

The Vf converter comes in circuit boards that also have amplifiers

Our amplifier is a device that can be connected to transducers or sensors to amplify the signal and be able to use it for our speed controllers.
Several different types of sensors are available and this amplifier has two different amplifiers, one is a current amplifier (for hall sensors) and the other is a zero-pass amplifier that is suitable for reading sensors with a pick-up coil i.a.

Different a transducer has two or three connections and the most common is:

  • If there are three connections, the output signal can often be used directly without an amplifier.
  • Two connections can be a simple "pickup coil" or sensor with Hall transducer, several types exist,,,

Which amplifier should I use?

Amplifier 1: Current amplifier for ABS sensors with Hall sensor elements. The sensor has 2 connections, but can be recognized by the fact that one connection has a DC voltage of approx. 10-11V and the other 0V. The amplifier is connected in series with the energized conductor, has low resistance and does not otherwise affect the car's ABS system.
Normal fits BMW model years approx. Can also fit other cars with similar abs systems.

Amplifier 2: This is amplifier for single pickup coil. Very sensitive (approx. 50 mV) amplifier that outputs a short pulse for each 0-crossing of the input signal. The sensor's connections have no voltage (approx. 0V) if you measure with a multimeter. If you want to retrieve rpm from a sensor with only two connections (sensor coil), you can use this amplifier.
Normal fits Volvo 940 eg. Can also fit cars with similar ABS systems.

The amplifiers have screw connections.
